I’m Jill D’Arpino from Aftermathofsuicide.com After my son’s suicide on Dec 27th, 2014, I began a very lonely dark journey that triggered depression, passive suicidal ideation, and PTSD for me. I am now a mental health advocate.
My dominant intention is to share my story and the lessons I’ve learned and what I did to stay alive, to bring awareness to the signs of depression in children and what others who don’t suffer can do to help those that do. Untreated depression is the #1 cause of suicide. It is the only illness that we blame the person who has it.
There is nothing like having someone who can relate to and who knows and understands the pain. There is a difference between real raw experience. I don’t need a Ph.D. etc. to be qualified to speak about this topic.
